Alex, our venture advisor, shared some insights about our investment background in Handelsblatt

In Germany, most investor funds flow into safe bets such as e-commerce according to a new study by management consulting firm EY. On the other side, it’s really tough for young technologies where real breakthroughs could happen, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain to find backers because e.g. time to market maturity often takes longer. In this context, Alex shed some light on our investment strategy at HP Ventures where we support deep tech startups in long-term partnerships to develop global technology companies.

“Since SAP, we have not been able to develop a global technology leader, although there is enough economic power and know-how,” Alex said. “There are plenty of people in Germany with technological expertise and smart ideas. They just need the right impulses and incentives to establish a company.”
